Our experience in commercial property and retail space extends from the largest footprint in central Birmingham (the Royal Mail Depot in Newtown) to modern infill in historic areas and carving out good space from within heritage buildings such as the Emma Bridgewater Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent.

PCPT have been involved in Townscape Heritage schemes across the West Midlands – Walsall, Coventry, Willenhall, Stoke, Dudley and Birmingham.  We also carry out Conservation Management Plans, Heritage Statements  and Quinqennial Inspections.

Staff are affiliate members of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, and registered Architects Accredited in Building Conservation and RIBA Conservation Architects.

PCPT specialises in the upgrade and refurbishment of schools and educational establishments, and work on the Birmingham City Council’s ‘Constructing West Midlands’ Framework.

PCPT have established reputation for doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries over a number of years and have developed special skills in working for various Health Trusts in the mental health sector. This includes the award of NHS Building of the Year.  Many of our more recent projects have involved the refurbishment, extension or DDA update of Day Care Centres and residential units within the West Midlands.

Residential involvement ranges from one off bespoke houses, apartments in listed buildings to large scale new developments in sensitive areas.

PCPT have a proven ability in master planning with experience in managing design teams and providing new and appropriate problem solving techniques. As a practice, we have built up 40 years of experience in the evaluation and development of complex contaminated and derelict sites.

We are currently involved with assisting Homes England by unlocking complicated sites in urban areas.

PCPT has a detailed knowledge of the planning system and act at Planning Inquiries, providing both architectural and landscape expert witness.

PCPT recognise the importance of sustainability and the creation of communities.  Each master plan has to have an analysis of the special characteristics of that site and the opportunities that exist.
