Camden Street Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham
William Sapcote & Sons
Camden Street in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area was started as a development on the site of William Sapcote’s premises called ‘Camden Village’. The success of this led to further sites being included in a mixed use scheme of 3,000 sqft commercial and 180 residential units involving new build and conversions around a linked pattern of internal courtyards. The photos on the right show the existing urban fabric of a part of the scheme and below the sketch with the finished scheme which shows a contextual approach favoured by PCPT.
